 2 min read # 3 Reasons to Hire an External IT Company in Plymouth Meeting PA [Mindy Gallagher](https://alura.valeonetworks.com/blog/author/mindy-gallagher) : Jun 20, 2022, 12:00:00 AM [Managed IT Services](https://alura.valeonetworks.com/blog/tag/managed-it-services) Technology is integrated into nearly every part of our lives. We use it to connect with our loved ones from across the world and keep up with celebrities. In our work lives it helps us collect data and present it in a meaningful way. However creating and running an IT team inside your company takes a lot of effort and time. If your current employees aren't trained in the field you have to hire and find software that works with your current tech.  Here are three reasons why you should instead turn to an external IT company in Plymouth Meeting PA.  ## 1. Strategic IT Decision-Making If a company owns an IT department then the company's word must be obeyed. If they tell their IT department to do something then that department must try to accomplish it as best as they can. Most Board members are unaware of what is actually possible with technology.  An IT solutions company doesn't work that way. Since they're hired from outside your company they have the freedom to tell you what can and can't be done. They'll push back when you go in the wrong direction with a project or expect too much.  More importantly they'll help you avoid the [challenges you'll face](https://smallbusiness.chron.com/disadvantages-information-technology-business-4020.html) when integrating IT into your business.  ## 2. Access to IT Support and Skillset An IT services company offers both experience and a proven skillset for their clients. Since they've worked with multiple businesses before yours they're better at diagnosing issues and providing general IT support.  Additionally most IT companies deal with a variety of different software and types of projects. They'll assign the appropriate consultant for your needs and provide after-hours support.  [Before hiring one](https://www.alura.com/IT-Support/Plymouth-Meeting/blog.aspx?ID=1131&Title=5%20Tips%20for%20Choosing%20IT%20Support%20Consultants%20in%20Plymouth%20Meeting%20PA) make sure that they have experience with your technology and software. Ask for certification and qualifications to back up those claims.  ## 3. Getting an Outside Perspective Since external IT services have worked at length with other companies besides your own they know what works and what doesn't. They're not going to get caught up trying to make a process or change in your system work if they know from experience that it's impossible or too complicated.  What an IT services company will do is bring new ideas to the table. They should be able to provide alternative suggestions that you may not have considered. It's also possible that they'll [introduce something innovative](https://www.itonics-innovation.com/blog/8-external-innovation-sources-you-should-know) that your competitors are already making use of.  You should look to your IT services provider as a member of your team as opposed to hired help.  ## Hire an External IT Company in Plymouth Meeting PA An IT support company is essential if you haven't created your own dedicated department.
